A couple of months ago, Dead by Daylight announced a new original Chapter End Transmission. The first truly Sci-Fi horror content the game ever got. With a map on an alien world, and a killer that is a twisted and burnt robot, covered in stolen flesh, given sentience by ancient alien ruins.

It is a clever and unique idea, that is executed well and is a great addition to the franchise.

And they needed to get it released, because following it, they are getting the definitive Sci-Fi horror franchise.

Alien.

And in my opinion, it is one of their biggest ones yet.

Alien is the definitive Sci-Fi horror. The Sci-Fi Horror genre owes its modern existence to Alien. And It’s famous to a degree beyond most horror franchises.

I’m a big horror fan, but that is a comparatively recent development, only the last few years, so I remember not being into horror, And even then, I loved Alien. My dad doesn’t watch horror, and Alien is among his favorite movies of all time, it’s not just a horror icon, it’s one of the biggest Icons in all of Science Fiction, even people who don’t watch Horror have seen it, it’s one of the exceptions.

And it has one of the most famous monsters in any movie. The Xenomorph is the alien. It’s The Alien. It’s so famous, I can just say ‘The Alien’ and people know what I’m talking about.

Alien is one of the most important movies of all time. Has shaped not just Sci-Fi Horror, but Science fiction itself. It’s hard technology asthetic, the dark and scarier tone, and the fact it’s one of the first times an alien wasn’t just a guy in a rubber costume.

And it’s coming to Dead by Daylight!

More details will be detailed August 8, but from the trailer, we can absolutely confirm the Alien itself, and the Nostromo as a map. And we know it is coming with a new survivor, and all odds are that it is Ellen Ripley.

The chapter will likely launch around late august/early September.

Also you can see good old Jonesy the cat in the teaser, don’t know what that means yet, but I’m just happy to see him.
